§ Mr. John Fraserasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether the terms of reference of the feasibility study, initiated on the subject of a Thames barrage, include consideration of the use of the Thames through the Greater London area for recreational purposes.
§ Mr. GreenwoodThe study is concerned first and foremost with safety from tidal flooding. However, the Greater London Council, in assessing the merits of a permanent barrage, will be 31W taking into account the advantages to amenity and to recreational facilities in London. The South East Economic Planning Council are also advising me upon this aspect of the matter.
