Mr. John Hallasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will publish a table showing United Kingdom exports to the overseas sterling areas as a percentage of the total overseas sterling area imports and United Kingdom imports from the overseas sterling area as a percentage of total United Kingdom imports, respectively, for each of the years 1946 and 1956.
§ Mr. DarlingIn 1956 imports into the Overseas Sterling Area, as then composed,316W from the United Kingdom were 32 per cent. of the Area s total imports; imports into the United Kingdom from the Area were 32 per cent. of total United Kingdom imports. On the same basis figures for 1946 were 32 per cent. and 45 per cent. respectively.
