§ 56. Mr. J. H. Osbornasked the Secretary of State for Defence what discussions have been held with the Central Advisory Committee on Scientific and Technological Resources about the proposed cuts in the Government's defence research programme.
§ Mr. MasonI assume that the hon. Member is referring to the saving of £3 million in Cmnd. 3515. This particular reduction was not discussed with the Central Advisory Council for Science and Technology but the Ministry of Defence does of course take account of the views expressed by the Council on general matters affecting Defence research and development.
