Mr. Gresham Cookeasked the Minister of Transport if she will give particulars of the individual projects being undertaken by the Transport Research Assessment Group as part of the joint programme by her Department and the Ministry of Technology.
§ Mr. CarmichaelThe Group is at present principally engaged in assessing the needs for new research and development in the field of inland transport and identifying the main areas in which work is likely to yield results. Projects on which detailed work has begun include automatic tracted cab systems, a guided bus system, the design of interchanges between different modes of transport, and problems of ticketing for multi-stage passenger fares.
