§ 61. Sir R. Russellasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he has studied the evidence contained in the December issue of the official organ of the Devon Trust for Nature Conservation, a copy of which has been sent to him, that more strychnine is being used for killing moles than necessary; if he is satisfied that enough care is taken in granting permits for the issue of strychnine for this purpose; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. John MackieI have seen the Journal of the Trust. I do not accept the figures given in it as evidence that unnecessary amounts of strychnine are being used. On the remaining parts of the Question I would refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave on 22nd March, 1967 to the hon. Member for Devizes (Mr. Charles Morrison).—[Vol. 743, c. 1706–7.]
