HC Deb 24 January 1968 vol 757 c115W
Mr. Wingfield Digby

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what plans he has for increased food production in the coming year, in view of the balance of payments.

Mr. Buchanan-Smith

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) what estimate he has made of the contribution of grassland, in view of the need to increase home food production as a result of devaluation;

(2) what estimate he has made of the contribution which can be made by the livestock industry to the saving of food imports following devaluation; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. John Mackie

I would refer the hon. Members to the reply given today to the hon. Member for North Angus and Mearns (Mr. Buchanan-Smith) and others.
