§ Mr. Elystan Morganasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will list the local authority associations both in Wales and the United Kingdom with which he had discussions on reorganisation of local government in Wales prior to the publication of his White Paper on that subject.
§ Mr. Cledwyn HughesThe County Councils Association, the Association of Municipal Corporations, the Urban District Councils Association, the Rural District Councils Association and the National Association of Parish Councils, all of which represent English and Welsh Authorities, were told by my predecessor of the procedure he wished to follow in 103W considering this subject and they kindly nominated people with experience and knowledge of local government in Wales to act as informal and confidential advisers to the Working Party which he set up. I met representatives of the associations again shortly before publishing the White Paper and have since had full discussions on my proposals with them.
