Mr. Elystan Morganasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what consultations he has had with the Secretary of State for Defence and the Minister of Overseas Development on increasing expenditure in non-military fields, particularly information and aid, in order to maintain effective British influence when Great Britain's military presence abroad is being reduced.
§ Mr. William RodgersAs I just told the House, it is our intention to maintain our information effort at about its present level and my right hon. Friend the Minister of Overseas Development told the House last week of the Government's decision to maintain the present cash value of aid for the next two years.
