§ 84. Mr. Biffenasked the Minister of Labour by what percentage amount rates and earnings will increase as a result of the recent settlement for funeral workers 23W concluded between the London Association of Funeral Directors and the National Union of Funeral and Cemetery Workers; and if such a settlement is consistent with the Government incomes and productivity policy.
§ Mr. HattersleyThe settlement provides for a 3 per cent. increase in weekly rates from 1st December, 1967 and a further 3 per cent. from 1st June, 1968 for workers whose last increase was on 1st September 1965. Information about the percentage increase in earnings is not available. The staging of the settlement reflects modifications made after discussion with my Department to bring it more closely into line with the Government's Prices and Incomes Policy.
