§ Mr. Elystan Morganasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will, prior to his Budget proposals, make a study of those areas in the United Kingdom, like Mid-Wales, which on account of having a very hight proportion of service industry to manufacturing industry are heavily imposed upon by Selective Employment Tax.
§ Mr. Diamond:I cannot accept that this tax runs counter to the Government's regional policies, whose aim is to bring adequate employment opportunities within the reach of all parts of the country.
