§ Mr. Biffenasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will exercise his powers under Section 98 of the Agriculture Act, 1947 to ensure that spring crops are not adversely affected by game whose numbers have been affected by the restrictions on shooting arising from the current epidemic of foot-and-mouth disease.
§ Mr. Hoy:Where it can be demonstrated, in any particular case, that crops are being seriously damaged by game, we shall be prepared to consider whether the exercise of my right hon. Friend's powers under Section 98 of the Agriculture Act, 1947, would be justified.
