§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what action he has taken as a result of the Sutherland Committee Report to promote a closer relationship between universities' science research organisations and defence research establishments; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Gordon Walker:The Sutherland Report's recommendations have been accepted by the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals of Universities. The Research Councils are aware of the Report and its recommendations. Questions involving defence establishments are for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Defence.
