Mr. Lubbock

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many applications for loan sanction in respect of district heating schemes he has received since the beginning of the financial year 1967–68; and if he will circulate a list in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Mr. MacColl:

Since 1st April, 1967 10 applications for loan sanction for district heating (i.e. heating of a number of separate buildings from a single heat source) as part of local authority housing schemes have been received.

The schemes are:

  1. Ashby-de-la-Zouch U.D.—Tamworth Road, Measham.
  2. Camden L.B.—Oakley Square.
  3. Haringey L.B.—Park Lane Development.
  4. Hereford R.D.—Clehanger Site.
  5. Hounslow L.B.—Brentford Water Works Site.
  6. Nottingham C.B.—Hyson Green, Phase II.
  7. Southwark L.B.—North Peckham Scheme.
  8. Wandsworth L.B.—Doddington Grove.
  9. Washington U.D.—Sulgrave Village.
  10. Wolverhampton C.B.—Heath Town Redevelopment.
