§ Mr. Elystan Morganasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the total value of contracts by Government purchasing agencies placed with industrialists in Wales in 1967; and what are the corresponding figures for 1966 and 1965.
§ Mr. Diamond:In the financial years 1965–66 and 1966–67, the value of contracts placed by the largest purchasing Departments for work to be carried out in Wales by industrialists was as follows:
£ 1965–66 … … 15.6 million 1966–67 … … 16.1 million The above figures include the value of contracts for certain building and civil engineering work, some of which may have been let to firms not domiciled in Wales. Figures for calendar years cannot be provided without disproportionate expense.
§ Mr. Elystan Morganasked the Chancellor of the Exchquer what plans his Department have for increasing the volume of purchases by Government purchasing agencies in the development areas.
