§ 44. Mr. Eyreasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what discussions he is having with the building societies in order to avert another rise in mortgage interest rates.
§ Mr. GreenwoodI have had no recent discussions with the building societies on this subject, although it was touched on at yesterday's meeting of the Housing Programme Working Party. The Chairman of the Building Societies Association has said that his Council will not be reconsidering their recommended rates of interest until after the Budget.
