asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what efforts are made by Her Majesty's Government to help in the distribution of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation letter.

Mr. William Rodgers:

Her Majesty's Government distribute the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation Letter through the Central Office of Information's Overseas Affairs Mailing List. As at the 1st of January, 1968, 16,631 copies were distributed to 8,572 addresses in the United Kingdom, some of which take bulk supplies for further circulation. Recipients include universities, education officers, school teachers, public libraries, political parties, Members of both Houses of Parliament, trade unions, voluntary organisations such as the British Atlantic Committee, representatives of industry and local government, as well as private individuals.

Of the total number regularly distributed, 600 are sent to the Press via the Central Office of Information's News Distribution Service with a covering press notice prepared by the Central Office of Information.
