§ Mr. Gwynfor Evansasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will give the investment grants paid in England, Scotland and Wales, respectively, in 1965–66 and 1966–67; and what estimate he has made of the amounts for the current financial year.
§ Mr. Darling:Payments began on 1st April 1967. The amounts paid in England, Scotland and Wales during the calendar year 1967 were respectively:£160.7 million,£29.8 million, and£16 million. The total estimate for the financial year 1967–68 is£315 million. This is not broken down geographically, but I would expect that the final out-turn would correspond broadly with the pattern of payments to the end of the calendar year 1967.
