Mr. Evelyn Kingasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in the light of the closure of the Vickers plant at Weymouth, the redundancy caused by the closure of defence establishments in the Bovington area and the laying-off of 48 workers by Portcrete in Portland and the growing employment difficulties of the Dorset area, he will take steps to remove or diminish the effect of the Selective Employment Tax in that area.
