HC Deb 19 February 1968 vol 759 cc15-6W
91. Mr. Dance

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works what is the estimated saving to the public funds of the replacement of women cleaners by a firm of contract cleaners.

Mr. Diamond:

I have been asked to reply.

The best estimate I can now make is that the transfers to contract cleaning proposed for 1968–69 will save£400,000 in 1969–70, or about one third of the present cleaning cost of the areas to be transferred.
