§ 88. Mr. Steeleasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the projected industrial development on the north and south banks of the River Clyde in Dunbartonshire and Renfrewshire.
§ Mr. Ross:I am aware that a number of prospective developers have expressed interest in the Lower Clyde Area but I understand that only one project has reached the stage of a formal planning application. I am discussing with the planning authorities and with the Clyde Port Authority the best means of ensuring that the deep water facilities of the Lower Clyde are developed with due regard both to the economic potential and to the amenity of the river.
