The figures have been assembled on an annual basis from a number of sources on the basis of forecasts of expenditure for the year concerned. In some categories the figures are based on estimated apportionments of a total forecast expenditure. It is not practicable for example to assess precisely the capital element in educational building devoted exclusively to sport. The figures provide a broad guide to the level of expenditure based on the best sources available at the time they were compiled.
