§ 9. Mr. Wingfield Digbyasked the Minister of Public Building and Works, by how much he estimates the cost of timber for building will rise in 1968–69; how much of this will be due to the increased cost of timber imports; and what this will add to the cost of the average house or housing unit.
§ Mr. MellishI cannot yet estimate the rise in timber costs in 1968–69. The increased cost of timber imports directly cue to devaluation will add not more than £30 to the cost of building the average house. The increase will be much less for flats.
