§ Mr. Bruce-Gardyneasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will now make a statement on his plans regarding service payments on post-war dollar loans due at the end of this month.
§ Mr. Roy JenkinsYes. H.M. Government have decided to take advantage of the deferment provision in the financial agreements dated 6th March, 1957 in respect of the 1968 instalments due on these loans and have advised the two Governments accordingly. The amounts involved are $138 million (£57. 5 million) and $ Canadian 37. 7 million (£14. 5 million) respectively.
