HC Deb 20 December 1968 vol 775 cc518-9W
Mr. Tapsell

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services, which organisations have submitted oral or written evidence to the National Insurance Advisory Committee on the question of unemployment benefit for occupational pensioners.

Mr. Swingler

I understand from the Chairman of the National Insurance Advisory Committee that 224 of the representations received on this matter were from organisations of various kinds. The figure includes a number of representations from different branches of the same organisation.

It is not the practice of the Advisory Committee, which is an independent body, to publish the names of those who make representations to it. I understand, however, that amongst those who have been invited to give oral evidence are the Confederation of British Industry and the Trades Union Congress.
