§ Mr. David Steelasked the Secretary of State for Scotland, whether, following his study of the report, Transport in the Borders, a copy of which has been sent to him, he will make a special grant to Roxburgh County Council to enable improvements to be made to the B6399 Hawick-Newcastleton road; and whether he will review the likely need for improvements to the A7 Hawick-Carlisle road in anticipation of the completion of the M6 motorway from Carlisle to the South.
