§ 85. Mr. Longdenasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will state the policy of Her Majesty's Government regarding the licensing of imports of apples grown overseas.
§ Mr. Dell:Licences are not required for imports of preserved apples from any source, or of fresh apples from the sterling area. Imports of fresh apples from non-sterling sources are restricted by quotas and require licences. These are allocated to importers on the basis of their imports in a past period of fresh apples and certain other fruit.
