§ Mr. Ron Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he is now in a position to make a statement regarding the future use of the Hadrian Camp, Carlisle; and if he will give an assurance that these premises will be taken over and used to the full, thus providing employment.
§ Mr. Reynolds:There is no defence requirement for Hadrian Camp, Carlisle, and it is too early to say what other use will be made of it. Other Government Departments are still considering whether they need it. If they do not, and if local authorities do not want it, it will be offered for sale publicly.
