§ 57. Mr. Dalyellasked the Minister of Overseas Development what plans he has to meet Mr. Lestor Pearson, Chairman of the Inquiry into Development Aid, sponsored by the World Bank; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. PrenticeI met Mr. Lester Pearson on 18th November and we exchanged views on very many aspects of development assistance. Mr. Pearson had a meeting with my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on 9th December. During his stay in London he met a number of people who are prominent and active in the development field, e.g. leading members of the Overseas Development Institute.
The Commission under Mr. Pearson's chairmanship held its first meeting, in Canada, on 15th December.
