§ Mr. Deanasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will obtain from regional hospital boards the figures necessary to enable him to give national statistics showing the number of hospital beds which are closed through lack of staff or through inability to pay the necessary salaries.
§ Mr. EnnalsCentral collection of the number of beds unused for lack of staff was discontinued in 1962 because of the unreliability of the figures arising from difficulty of definition and we do not propose to re-introduce it.
