HC Deb 13 December 1968 vol 775 c217W
Mr. Leadbitter

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) if he will take steps to reduce the limits for the provision of transport by local authorities to take children to school because of the new conditions arising from the introduction of British Standard Time;

(2) what further steps he has taken through local education authorities to protect children who have long distances to travel to school but because they travel over distances less than the statutory limits for the provision of local authority transport have to walk in darkness following the introduction of British Standard Time.

Miss Bacon

Local education authorities already have adequate discretionary powers.
