§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsThe capital value of university building projects authorised to start in Scotland in 1965 (January) to 1966 (March) and in the financial years 1966–67, 1967–68 and 1968–69 was £9.4 million, £4.6 million, £3.2 million and £5.2 million, respectively. These figures represented 20.4 per cent., 11.8 per cent., 10.1 per cent. and 27.5 per cent. respectively of the value of university projects authorised to start in Great Britain. According to provisional figures, 15.4 per cent. of the 218,000 United Kingdom university students in October, 1968, were in Scottish universities.
