§ Mr. Gwynfor Evansasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what acreage of the Falkland Islands is farmed; how many holdings there are; what is their average size; and how many of them are owned by resident islanders.
§ Mr. Mulley2,903,100 acres are under wool production by ranching methods. There are 29 holdings, the size of which vary from 850 to 400,000 acres. Ten of these holdings are owned by resident islanders, six by local companies controlled by resident islanders, and three are Crown land farms, leased by resident islanders.
