§ Mr. DellThe requirement to disclose information about political contributions in the directors' report applies to financial years of companies ending after 26th January, 1968. Not all companies have yet sent to the Registrar of Companies a directors' report for a financial year ending after that date. An analysis of the reports sent to the Registrar by companies with net assets exceeding £500,000 or profits exceeding £50,000 shows political contributions totalling £135,000. An analysis of the reports sent by other companies would involve an undue expense of time and effort.
