HC Deb 09 December 1968 vol 775 c38W
Mrs. Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many students in English universities are taking post-graduate courses in science, engineering and technical subjects; and what proportion they represent of the total post-graduate student population of Scottish and English universities.

Mrs. Shirley Williams

The latest information available in the required detail relates to the academic year 1967–68. 13,065 full-time postgraduate students in science, engineering and technology, in English universities, represented 39–5 per cent. of all postgraduates in English and Scottish universities in that year. The corresponding figures for part-time students were 3,897 and 28.6 per cent.
