asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is, per head of population in Scotland, the number of hospital beds, except mental hospital beds, mental hospital beds, general practitioners and all doctors except general practitioners, respectively.

The following were the rates per 10,000 population on 30th September, 1967:

Hospital beds excluding mental and mental deficiency beds 68.20
Mental and mental deficiency beds 52.57
General practitioners 5.24
Doctors employed by hospital boards and local authorities 7.28
