§ 74. Mr. John Hallasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what estimate has been made of the effect on the economy of the Falkland Islands of the exploitation of the re- 16W sources of seaweed to provide raw material for the alginate industry of Great Britain.
§ Mr. MulleyWe are in communication with the Governor about this, but it is still too early to form any detailed estimate. We, of course, welcome any suitable measures to diversify the islands' economy.
§ 75. Mr. Ronald Bellasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will visit the Falkland Islands.
§ Mr. MulleyAs my right hon. and noble Friend the Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs has recently returned from a visit to the islands, I see no call for a further Ministerial visit there at present.
