§ Mr. K. RobinsonThese figures are not available in the form requested but it is estimated that the average controlled rent in England and Wales is about seventeen shillings a week. A recent analysis of a sample of cases suggests that where a house is in good repair and has all the basic amenities, the regulated rent might on average and subject to any scheme for phasing increases rise to between forty and fifty shillings per week.
