§ Mrs. Ewingasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give financial support to the promotion of a Scottish fashion fair in order to bring capital investment into the Scottish fashion trade.
§ Mr. RossGovernment funds are not used to support trade fairs in the United Kingdom but the Board of Trade organises British Weeks abroad and provides financial and other assistance for participation by firms, amongst whom Scottish fashion firms are often prominent, in trade fairs and other trade promotion events abroad.
