§ Mr. Pounderasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps he plans to take to prevent the acceptance by research laboratories of animals without adequate inquiries being made to ascertain whether or not these animals have been stolen.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesI do not think that any steps on the part of my right hon. Friend are called for. Laboratory authorities purchasing animals from dealers are conscious of the need to ensure that their supplies have been properly obtained. It is an offence to receive stolen animals.
