HC Deb 04 December 1968 vol 774 c480W
73. Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

asked the President of the Board of Trade why he has introduced a new route for aircraft taking off from London Airport for Northern and Central Europe; whether he is aware that aircraft using this route, when the wind is easterly, pass at a low altitude over Kingston Vale, hitherto a quiet residential area; and what steps he proposes to take to obviate this nuisance.

Mr. William Rodgers

The new route was introduced so that aircraft taking off avoid the more densely populated areas of Hounslow, Isleworth, Richmond and Putney.
