HC Deb 04 December 1968 vol 774 c516W
Mrs. Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services, of the 5,000 further local authority day nursery places to be provided by 1976, how many are to be in Scotland; and how these will be divided between local authorities there.

Mr. Ennals

5,000 is about the number of additional day nursery places which local health authorities in England and Wales expected to provide by 1976 when they last revised their 10-year health and welfare plans. Details are given in The Development of Community Care (Cmnd. 3022) published in June 1966. The provision of day nurseries in Scotland is the concern of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland.
