§ 56. Mr. Smallasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what action he is taking to bring about a reduction in conveyancing fees in Scotland.
§ Mr. RossConveyancing fees are not fixed by me but are based on a scale recommended to its members by the Law Society of Scotland. For my part I am looking urgently at possible reforms of conveyancing law and the land tenure system. This and the work of the Henry Committee on Registration of Title should effect a welcome simplification.
