§ Mr. John MackieBy 31st October, 1968, 1,373 amalgamation proposals had been received in England and Wales and Northern Ireland under the Farm Amalgamations and Boundary Adjustments Scheme. Of these 166 have been formally approved.
It is too soon to give the average period between submission of application and payment of grant, since payments of grant will be made as amalgamators complete the land transactions and approved remodelling works, and an amalgamator may take up to three years to finish the work.
