HC Deb 02 December 1968 vol 774 c227W
77. Mrs. Joyce Butler

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services, if he will arrange for a full public inquiry before taking a final decision on the use of the Tottenham Drill Hall as a reception centre.

Mr. Swingler

No. Planning clearance was obtained for this user on 12th February, and there is no reason to hold such an inquiry.

At present it is envisaged that this drill hall would form part of a planned dispersion of London's homeless single men. At the moment their only reception and resettlement centre is in Camberwell.
