§ Mr. PentlandAs announced in the Press on 5th August, 1968, my right hon. Friend the then Minister of Social Security referred to the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council the question whether any change should be made in the way that pneumoconiosis is defined in the Industrial Injuries Act. She also asked the Council to consider whether special provision should be made for disablement due to other respiratory conditions found when pneumoconiosis is present to be taken into account in assessing the extent of disablement due to the disease.
