HC Deb 02 December 1968 vol 774 c371W
Mr. Loveys

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will make a statement on the committee he has appointed to consider the best methods, including publicity, of securing the participation of the public in the early stages of development plans in a particular area.

Mr. K. Robinson

The Committee on Public Participation in Planning under the chairmanship of my hon. Friend, the Joint Parliamentary Secretary, Mr. Arthur Skeffington has received over 350 pieces of evidence from a wide range of persons and organisations. They have almost completed their review of that evidence and issues arising will be discussed shortly with interested bodies.

It is hoped that the Committee's report will be published next spring.
