Much depends upon local conditions and cooperation in the neighbourhood and arrangements have to be drawn up and publicised locally. A local authority thinking of introducing such provision would be interested in the publication "Emergency Call Schemes for the Housebound" which is obtained from the Scottish Old People's Welfare Committee in Edinburgh.
