§ Mr. Bessellasked the Minister of Transport if he will seek to amend existing legislation to provide that when bus fares increased 30 days notice of application should be given by the Traffic Commissioner to all local authorities.
§ Mr. MarshUnder the existing regulations, Traffic Commissioners have full discretion to give more than the fourteen days statutory minimum period of notice for the hearing of fares applications. I am informed that in practice local authorities now normally receive four weeks notice or more of applications. I see no present need for amending the regulations.
