§ Mr. SnowNo. My right hon. Friend is not in favour of developing a very small maternity unit where larger units are available at a reasonable distance.
§ 35. Sir T. Beamishasked the Minister of Health if he will give an assurance that the Victoria Hospital in Lewes is to be retained as a general hospital; and if he is aware that on this assumption nearly £12,000 has been raised by voluntary subscriptions towards the target of £16,000 to provide a new operating theatre, work on which has already commenced.
§ Mr. SnowThe South-East Metropolitan Regional Hospital Board have no present plans either to close or to change the use of this hospital.
