HC Deb 11 April 1968 vol 762 c309W
Mr. Bruce-Gardyne

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will indicate the nature of fringe benefits in lieu of divided increases, or in addition to dividend increases of 3½ per cent. or less, which companies may distribute to their shareholders without infringing the terms of the Government's prices and incomes policy.

Mr. Diamond

The value of all distributions to ordinary shareholders in respect of their holdings has to be taken into account by companies when observing the 3½ per cent. ceiling.
